＜計画する人格＞の同一性
 
これまでの議論の流れの中で、＜人格の長期の同一性＞は社会制度に関係するものであり、＜人格の中期の同一性＞は、＜計画する人格の同一性＞であるとしたが、前回も触れたように＜計画する人格の同一性＞の中には社会制度に関係するものもあった。そこで、次のように修正しておきたい。
 
 
＜計画する人格の同一性（中期と長期の同一性）＞の下位分類として次の二つ、
　　＜社会制度に関わるもの（長期の同一性）＞
　　＜社会制度に関わらないもの（中期の同一性）＞
を区別する。
 
ところで、「明日同じ時間同じ場所で会いましょう」という約束をすることは、計画を立てることでもある。そこで、＜社会制度に関わらない中期のもの＞をさらに次の二つ区別したい。
　　＜単なる計画によって必要になる人格の同一性＞
　　＜約束によって必要になる人格の同一性＞
この二つは異質である。
そこで、もう一度分類を修正しておきたい。
 
＜計画する人格の同一性（中期と長期の同一性）＞の下位区分が
　　＜単に計画する人格の同一性＞
　　＜約束する人格の同一性＞
である。この＜約束する人格の同一性＞のさらに下位区分が
　　　　＜社会制度に関わる同一性（長期の同一性）＞
　　　　＜社会制度に関わらない同一性＞
である。
 
 
まず＜約束による計画ではない単に計画する人格の同一性＞から考えよう。
 
行為論では、行為内意図(intention in action)と事前意図(prior intention)を分ける。行為内意図とは、「何をしているの？」と問われて、「コーヒーを淹れているんだ」と即座に観察によらずに答えられるのは、「コーヒーを淹れる」という意図をもって私が行為しているからである。このような行為を構成している意図を行為内意図と呼ぶ。それに対して、「お湯が沸いたら、お風呂に入ろう」と意図しているが、まだお湯が沸いていないのでTVを見ながら待っているとき、「お風呂に入ろう」という意図は、「事前意図」である。 
計画は、行為内意図だろうか、事前意図であろうか。普通に考えれば、「今度の日曜日に買い物をしよう」というような計画は、事前意図である。しかし、全ての計画が事前意図であるのではない。上の計画に基づいて、私が今自動車でショッピングセンターに向かっているところだとしよう。私は、すでに計画を実行中である。しかし、まだ買い物は完了していない。この場合には、計画は行為内意図である。
 
今が金曜日で、次のように考えたとしよう。
　　①日曜日に買い物をしよう
これは金曜日と土曜日には、計画であり、かつ事前意図である。
 
さて、日曜日になり、今まさに私は自動車でまさにショッピングセンターに向かっているとしよう。
　　②今日は買い物をしよう
これは、現在進行中の計画である。これは「買い物をする」という行為内意図である。
　　③自動車でショッピングセンターに向かう
これは計画（これは②の計画の部分計画である）であると同時に現在の行為内意図である。
　　④ショッピングセンターについたら４階へ行こう。
これは計画（これは②の計画の部分計画である）であると同時に事前意図である。　
 
整理するとこうなる。ある計画が進行中である時、その計画は行為内意図である。そのとき、その計画のさまざまな部分計画の内のあるものは、行為内意図であり、他のものは、事前意図である。
 
ところで金曜日と土曜日には、①の計画は事前意図である。しかし、事前意図を持つとき、その行為はまだ開始されていないが、私の行為は、計画を立てること（事前意図をもつこと）によって拘束される。つまり①のような計画を立てたならば、（計画を変更する場合を除いて）土曜日に2泊3日の旅行に出発したりしない。つまり、事前意図段階の計画も人の行為を拘束する。その拘束がその間の人格の同一性を必要とするものであり、また人格の同一性を構成するものである。もちろん実行中の計画もまた同様に人格の同一性を要求し、かつ構成する。計画設定から計画完了までの行為の拘束は、このような意味で人格の同一性を構成する。
 
つぎに、このような計画が、問答とどのように関係しているのかを考えよう。
