会社の利益と人生の幸福

22　会社の利益と人生の幸福　(20120831)　
 
社会組織は、次の二つの条件を満たすものでした。
　　①社会問題の解決のために作られ、
　　②そのようなものとして正当化される
（ところで、この①と②の条件が満たされるかどうかを判定するのは、だれでしょうか。専門家が判定するのでしょうか。それとも、当該社会の成員の合意によるのでしょうか。これについては、後で考えたいと思います。）
 
この①と②を満たすのは、国連などの国際組織、国家、州、県、郡、市、町、村、など地方公共団体、国営企業、NGO、NPO、これを満たすでしょう。これに対して、私企業は①を満たす場合がありますが、しかし私企業は②を満たす必要がありません。要するに、社会組織と私企業を分けるものは、①ではなくて、②なのです。
 
前回の結論は、上記のようなものでした。
 
しかし、つぎのような疑問が沸き起こります。
私はこれまでは、家族もまた社会組織だと考えてきました。仮に、男女二人だけからなる家族であるとしても、それは二人からなる社会組織です。家族は、二人でしかできない様式の生活をする、あるいは家族世帯でしかできない様式の生活をするという目的で家族をつくり、そのようなものとして成員によって正当化されている、ということがあります。
 
もし家族についてこのように考えるのだとすると、会社もどうように考えられるのではないでしょうか。家族の営みと、家族経営の会社の営みは、うまく区別できないようにおもいます。あるいは、仲間5人で会社を作ったという場合、これもまた①と②を満たすのではないでしょうか。
 
会社の存在が、より広い社会の中で正当化されることを考えると、それは会社の目的を実現できているかどうかとは、別の問題になります。しかし、会社がそのメンバーによって正当化されているかどうかを考えるときには、会社の設立目的を果たしているかどうかが、問われることになります。
 
「会社は社会組織であるかどうか？」という問いをペンディングにしたまま、
「会社とは、どのような組織であるのか」を考えてみたいとおもいます。
 
ドラッカーは、「企業とは何か」を理解するには、「企業の目的」を考えなければならないといいます。そして「企業の目的として有効な定義は一つしかない。すなわち、顧客の創造である」「企業が何かを決定するのは、顧客である」と言います。「企業の目的が、顧客の創造である
ことから、企業には二つの基本的機能が存在する」と言います。それは「マーケティング」と「イノベーション」です。通常は、利益を上げることが企業の目的であるといわれているが、ドラッカーは、利益は、マーケティングとイノベーションの結果であるといいます。
 
これは私の思いつきですが、企業にとっての利益は、人間にとっての幸福と似ているのかもしれません。利益を上げることが目的であるとしても、そのために何をすべきかを、その目的からは導出することはできません。人の目的が幸福であるとしても、幸福になるために、その目的からは何をすべきかを導出することはできません。幸福は、結果的に与えられるものですが、それを目指しても何をしたらよいのかわからないのです。企業にとっての利益もまた、マーケティングとイノベーションの結果として与えられるものなのかもしれません。
